Cable heating may be caused by the following reasons:
(1) The resistance of the cable conductor does not meet the requirements: It may cause the cable to generate heat during normal operation.
(2) Unreasonable cable selection: This leads to the conductor cross-sectional area of the applied cables being too small, causing overload during operation. After long-term use, the imbalance between heat generation and heat dissipation of the cables results in overheating.
(3) Partial damage to the sheath of armored cables: Water ingress causes slow damage to the insulation performance, resulting in a gradual decrease in insulation resistance and also leading to overheating during cable operation.
(4) The insulation performance between phases of the cable is not very good: this leads to a relatively low insulation resistance and also causes heating during operation.
(5) Aging of the circuit: The insulation layer on the outside becomes brittle and falls off, causing a short circuit.
(6) The conductor material of the wire is too poor: It is not pure copper wire. Pure copper wire is much heavier than non-pure copper wire of the same size and structure.
